I came across some open box LED downlights on clearance at a big box store. This led me to deciding to replace some old brass halogen down lights in our hearth room. The problem was as I remove the old casings and attempted to install the new LED downlights, I realized that the clearance lights I bought fit a traditional 5″/6″ inch opening.
