Snugger fans are designed to fit close to the ceiling – just 8 inch from ceiling to the blade. The 42 inch snugger is for those smaller areas with limited side-to-side clearance. The quality of materials and workmanship is very good, commensurate with the price of the product. I decided on this fan because of it’s low profile even with the light kit. This Fan Had Me Spinning This ceiling fan is very pretty and has the smallest drop down distance from the ceiling of any fans I researched. Emerson usually gets good reviews for their fans, but this one nearly drove me nuts. It was easy to install and operated without any wobble;however, at slow speed there was an audible pulsating hum.
