Dangerous product! This fixture worked fine until today, three years later. The base of one of the glass shades failed, smashing the (glass!) shade to the kitchen countertop below. Glass shards flew all over the kitchen and dining area. The shade fixture is made out of a material that apparently fails when exposed to heat for a period of time — not a great design for a part that is designed to enclose a halogen light bulb.Fortunately, no one was in the room at the time the glass shattered.
