Great for new wire but not so good for older harder wire. I bought these to repair some low voltage lights that I installed in my back yard 6 years ago. With the maintenance men digging around and cutting wires, I had lights that were fine but needed new connections. These clips are probably as useful as any connector I have used in the past I have installed a lot of outdoor lights. These clips are probably as useful as any connector I have used in the past. For the most part better than what comes with the light. There is added utility in that this clip allows one to trim the connection to just about any length.
