Perfect solution! I am converting my home to LED and find that replacing the cans/bulbs is a better solution for me – since the light and the can are an integral piece you do not see the bulb and the dust settled around it when you look up – and the light is amazing. I only ran into a problem when I encountered an old can whose cut out in the sheetrock was larger than the ring trim available in all the replacement fixtures. these in fact covered the ginormous hole hidden behind the original ring, but I had to double the rings because these DO NOT HAVE A SLOT FOR THE CONE TO SIT IN. If you look at the old ring it has a slot for the cone to countersink into so it doesnt slide and it is even… I had to put the narrow ring that came with the cone on top of this one so the cone recessed properly. I looks okay, but there is a double ring. just know that and be aware when ordering this one. other that that it is…
