Great smart thermostat with the exception with the geofence feature
Great while they work, but unreliable connection and short life Initially, I thought these were great. I purchased 4 sensors to go with my ecobee 3 thermostat. At first, everything worked very well. However, I’ve found that 2 of them lose connection with the thermostat quite frequently, even though none are far away. (I live in a condo, modern construction – no plaster with chicken wire or anything like that to interfere with signals). Worse than that, however, 3 of them have developed problems – either reporting activity levels that make no sense or…
Check if your sensor cover is installed correctly! The sensors are a great selling point for this device, but due to some covers that were installed incorrectly at the factory your sensor may not detect occupancy. I ordered the black Friday bundle and 4 out of 4 sensors had this issue. A quick way to check without opening is to look at the back of the sensor and orient it so that the 4 character code is on the top edge and readable.
