The remote works the lights to turn on & off and dim , however in order to change fan speed you need to climb onto bed and pull chain as well to reverse blades ! Pain in the butt ! Wouldnât have bought if I had known this , Amazon probably would accept a return but Iâd have to hire another electrician to remove and reinstall then pay for reinstall ! Never bought refurbished before I bought two of these refurbished remote control fans because I knew I could run them if needed and because I was able to buy an extended warranty with them. I installed them myself . I am slow ,but installed both of these without much trouble. The remote is basic but works fine.The remote causes you to need to attach several extra wires and you need to be able to be on a ladder for a while.
