Soldering is Recommended These are great connectors for LED strips, but extremely finicky to get a good connection between the strip contact points and/or wire to make long stretches of connection. I’m using these to connect several strips of lights for under-cabinet lighting and my three suggestions would be to 1) practice making connection before mounting them; 2) solder them for a guaranteed connection; and 3) connect all the lights before you start mounting them to whatever surface. I was very frustrated with these at first as cutting the light strip on the line they tell you between the two sets of round gold conductors makes these connectors flicker and lose connection.
